The rest of the Christmas Card buffet

If you are interested in making any of these cards along with the 12 previously posted, please contact me as soon as possible.

November cards

Here is a look at the cards we are doing for November.

CTMH has done some new animated cards for autumn and Christmas. There is now a thin cut you can use as well as the plastic lines.  I have a Big shot and need to use foam to help get all the thin lines to cut.  CTMH has its own die machine which words very well.

The Thin cut tag is really fun to use.  I did the Distress Oxide inks and used a water color brush to drag the color down on the tag.

I got the 12 inch plates for the Big Shot to take in the whole waterfall thin cut.  The squares on the bottom show you what they look like.

I did the candles from the Thin Cut Happy Birthday border and used the packages from the Christmas Jingle Joy thin cut and stamps.  They look good as birthday presents as they do as Christmas present's

Got Candy and using that guide for other paper

Got candy was a great set of pages and candy toppers.  Our group, however wanted just pages.  There were 3 2-page layouts and a single page.  I duplicated the single page and have enough left over for another another 2 page layout.  First I will show you the Got candy pages and then an older packet I found called Sugar Rush.

Now you can see what using a different paper does to the pattern.

It is fun to take a pattern and use it again with different paper.  I did have the embellishments from the other paper which helped it go faster.  I have tried this with just paper and found that I could use the Cricut and stamps and Thin cuts I have to make it really work.  Try it some time and post what you think about changing up the paper.

Christmas Card Buffet

I am doing a modified Christmas Card buffet.  My orders from CTMH won't be in until next week so I am sharing what I have now.  Please look over the cards and see if there are some you would like to do.  Look back in a week and see what the additional cards look like.

I will do Zoom classes in November.  I will do 5 cards per session but can do more than 1 session on any given day.  It will be $15 for 5 cards if you can come and get them or I am close enough to bring them otherwise postage will be added to the cost. You can choose 1 of each card you wish.  Those who pay early can request which 5 cards they want to do at their session. You can choose how many sessions you wish to do your cards.  I am limiting the number of cards that I am cutting out.  I can cut more but the papers may vary.

Here are the samples so far.  I am looking forward to having a great time with you on Zoom. You will need adhesive.  The following will help you out to embellish and make your cards PoP.  I will stamp and will do the backgrounds for the kits.  You will have to do some coloring and cutting.

Our Spectrum Noir Triblend alcohol markers are beautiful for blending.

3D thin foam can be used and the cards will still go through the mail.

The Tombow tap runner is what I regularly use.  If there is something that needs a few seconds to get into place or there are thin lines that need to be adhered, I prefer the Green liquid Tombow.  This is like "2 way glue" in that if you put it on a project and let it dry before putting it anywhere, it will be like 3m sticky note pads.  This is great for masking.  There is also a blue bottle but it is always permanent.

CTMH has a variety of shimmer brushes.  Gold and Sliver are good ones for these projects and many more.

CTMH now has Stickles Glitter Glue and Liquid Pearls.  The silver Z3562 or Icicle Z3785 Glitter Glue and the Carnation Liquid Pearls Z3799 are great for these Christmas Cards.

Having fun with Mixed Media

I don't have a card group in October, so I thought I would work on my Christmas Card Buffet.  I have never worked with Mixed media before.  In my sorting and organizing my papers, I found some scraps from Halloween.  They weren't enough to make multiple cards for a group so I thought I would use this time and opportunity to play with the Halloween papers from various years and stamps from various years and mixed media. I played with Distress Oxide inks, Texture paste, Stickles Glitter Gel, and wet embossing.  It wouldn't be possible without the All purpose mat!

This is the Creativity in Motion (bundle CC9208).  The "hello" moves.  I stamped other things on there that don't move plus put the Halloween Gnome stamp sent images around the edges.

I used the Distress Oxide ink in the middle with the stencil and texture paste. There are 14 different colors on page 80 of the catalog or online..   The mini ink blending foam tool and pads are on page 81.

There are different Distress Oxide inks and different stencils and Texture paste.  I used the heat gun to help dry the paste on all of these and it leaves it smoother than if you let it air dry.

The Stickles Glitter gel Nebula (Z3807) is amazing used with the distress inks!

I just used the Distress Oxide inks by themselves and stamped over them.

This is the same but I cut the windows outs to have the color show through.

I love the squares and how you can cut out different spaces for larger images.

There are a number of stencils you can get for the texture paste.  One has a number of squares.  I cut them a part for easier use on the cards.  You can also get stencil sheets to make your own stencils.

These last 2 I used the Distress Oxide inks directly on the cards.   The one below I used the wet embossing.

I used the white powder above and the black below.  The white embossing was done first as a resist and the black was done after on top of the Distress Oxide.

You can share your playing with new techniques.  Check out my Facebook page for the different technique videos I have shared.  I am only doing the Technique Tuesday at 2pm now.  I also have print tips you can put on 4x6 tags to help you do new and different things.  Stay tuned for the Christmas Card Buffet Zoom classes- samples and sign up coming soon.
