I have been working hard on an 8 card workshop.  There are 4 styles and you do each twice.  The problem is that I am getting ready for my Open House on September 12.  The New Close To My Heart catalog that goes "live" September 1 is great.  Having gone to the convention and purchased the bundles, I have the Cricut Cartridge Artistry  (which is available for purchase now) and many new stamps which we can't show.  There was a switch in dates from August 1 to September 1 but the Cricut cartridge Artistry and the Zoe paper are now available.

We can show and sell the Zoe paper but I haven't worked with that yet - next step.  Here is what this fantastic paper looks like:

The Paper Packets are the same as you have come to love.  There are 6 - 12x12 B&T - 2 each of 3 designs.  The bottom right corner is the showing of the 6 cardstock sheets (2 - Glacier, 2 White Daisy, 1 Slate and 1 Sorbet).

The compliments are configured differently.  You get more and different kinds of things.  There are 1 6x6 coordinating sticker sheets.  There is 1 assortment of Kraft Die-cuts and not all are shown.  There is 1 assortment of Vellum Die -Cuts and not all are shown.







They also show on the same page in the catalog what embellishments will go with this set of papers. For Zoe it is the Enamel & Glitter Duos Green Triangles.  What isn't pictured is the Coral Shimmer Trim.

With most paper set, there is a Workshop on the go.  The is the My Reflections Zoe Paper Packet shown above.  A special D size stamp set that you can only purchase with the Workshop on the Go.  It contains the Zoe Assortment and the Coral Shimmer Trim plus wonderful instructions for 2 pages and 2 other pages from the How To Programs.  There is still paper and embellishments left for other projects. 

With each paper packet there has been a matching paper in our digital online Studio J.  Until the end of August all the papers that have ever existed are online. As of August 31 the lower used papers will be retired.   Each month a paper will be highlighted.  You can find things with #ctmhzoe for the Zoe paper.  For the month of August you can find Zoe in Studio J Express kits.  September 1 it will be gone!  Studio J is so easy.  You upload your photos and finish the who 2 page layout online in the mail will come your 2 page layout as a 12x12 page you just slip into your album.  You also receive your .jpg images - see my previous post.  To find out more, go to my webite and instead of clicking on Shop, go to the next tab right Products and in the drop down menu you will find Studio J.

Studio J

I have been playing with this program I love. Not through the end of August, all the papers that Close To My Heart has ever had are available.  September 1 some of the papers least used will be discontinued.  This is happening because there is need to make room for more papers coming up.

I have used "Older" paper in Studio J to fill in parts of my albums because the paper no longer exists or I don't have enough left to finish a page that I found pictures to use. 

This is a great way of getting pages done with no mess or fuss.  You do the page online and order and get your 12x12 photos that are your pages!  They look super.  You can use the Express collection and have everything ready for you to get your page done.  There are just blank pages that you can start from scratch.  It is also possible to have only photos printed so that you can do the Instalife album easily and cheaper than printing photos the regular way.  This gives you flexibility to have different size photos.

If you click on the second set, you will see 2 of the photos pix-elated.  The program told me that the photo wasn't the quality to get that big but I have done it before and they turned out alright.  I will make note the next time!  I usually set my digital camera to a larger size - 8x10 and then resize it down.  These 2 were taken on my Iphone and I will and I will have to see if I can raise the quality. 

I am going to go back and see if I can find the prints and see if I can print them and just glue them over.  You can "bling" your pages after you get them or ever put flip flaps on the page protectors to add photos to the pages.  Check out Youtube for Studio J tutorials.

Different levels of projects and involvement.

There are many levels to work in cards, scrapbooks and projects.  

See what you want to do.

Simple projects: these last from 1 - 2 hours

1. Come and find out what digital scrapbooking is all about: Studio J.  This is a free 1 hour workshop that will demonstrate how you can do things online. 

2. Learn how to use the Cricut Expressions Machine and Cricut Design Space online. This is for 1 hour for $5 and you leave with 2 cards, 1 tag and 1 layered image. 

3. Make 2 - 12x12 page layouts for 8 cards for $8.

Manageable Projects: these take from 2 - 3 hours

1. Workshop on the Go - get 5 friends to pre-pay and you are free with $25 in free product.  Make 4 pages, get"bling" and a D size stamp set and have leftovers to use on other projects. 

2. Base and Bling Buffet - prepay $12 for chain, pendant, charm and image (gold or silver choices) you can pay and add more at the buffet time. 

3. Picture My Life Buffet - prepay $6 and get 2 sheet protectors, 4 - 4x6 cards and 8 - 3x4 cards ( you can make more if you have time.) Bring 16-20 4x6 pages and go home with a good start to your album.

4. Card Buffet - prepay $15 and make as many cards as you can in 2 hours.  15 choices to choose from with limited seating.  

5. Instalife Album - bring @80 4x6 photos (which you can cut) or a mix of 4x4 and 2x2 and go home with a 20 page 4x4 album for $30.

6 Flip Flap Pages - Do you have lots of photos but don't want a whole album of them? Make 2 pages with "mini-albums" on each page for $15.  It is amazing with these little flaps can do for journaling and photos.

Challenge Projects: multiple sessions of 2 - 3 hours.

1. Fundamentals Album - make 8 layouts 5 different times for a total of 40 pages for $60. You will need to buy 20 page protectors @$23 and an album for @ $40 for a complete 20 page album!

2. Picture My Life Album - for $35 you will get 10 page protectors, 4x6 and 3x4 card set and a corner rounder.  Bring 80 - 100 photos.  You will still need to buy an album to put them in. 

3.  My Reflection Pages - make 6 -8 12x12 pages for $20.

4. 12 page 4x4 album - there is a mix of vellum, white cardstock and kraft paper.  for $20 and @30 photos you can cut, you will have a complete album.

5. Year Calendar - you actually make 12 -12x12 pages with photos.  The project will be between $32 and $42 depending on the paper you choose to use.

Great time at Merrimac Festival

I had fun at the Merrimac Festival Art and Craft Show Saturday August 1!  I am looking forward to having a number of workshop and classes.  I will be sharing the list of things I would like to share this year.
