Epic Happy Birthday Cards

The Hello Pumpkin paper has these cute cards in the Workshop Your Way.  You will make 2 designs of 6 cards each.  These are really cute as a kit but the designs and cutting patterns can be used for any number of paper scraps you might have around.

Check out my website for this cute Workshop Your Way.  Keep posted because I am going to see what this stamp set and design will look like with other paper.

Shaker Cards - Holiday Sparkle and more

This holiday you can make some special cards.  Holiday Sparkle is a kit where you can make 6 each of 2 designs.  Check out my website. You can also check out the blog 'Make if from your heart' from Close To My Heart on these Holiday Sparkle shaker cards.

If you like the shaker cards, you can get 6 foams and acetate (note that you will get 3-d foam squares in the middle of the circles.
You can also get the thin cuts which will help you make your own "shaker pieces".
You can also purchase loose sequins to put inside of the shaker cards.
These are really cute to make for so many occasions.

Getting ready for Halloween!

I had some old leftovers of Halloween compliments and packets.  I also had a full packet from "Cats and Bats".  I decided to get ready for this years Halloween pictures early.

I love the Close to My Heart VersaMat as it is easy to get those diagonal cuts and straight placements.

Because I had "left overs" from the original projects, I used these and stamps to embellish my pages.

Below are the Layouts 2 and 3 - regular and then embellished.

One could use stamps and Cricut shapes and letters to do the same thing.  You could also use this layout with different paper and get a very different look.

Remember that you can always turn your pages 1/4 turn and get very different looks as well.  You can use the 1/2 page protectors for 4x6 and 3x4 photos or use Flip Flaps if you have extra photos but don't want to keep making pages.  See what you can do for Halloween!

"You've Got this"

The Close to My Heart paper is wonderful.  The Grateful Heart paper has a cute Workshop Your Way for cards.  I am using these as 2 of the 3 cards at Baraboo UMC for October.  The other will be a Thanksgiving card.

I am thinking of offering the Workshop Your Way scrapbook pages with an Online Facebook group.  Some of the pages involve cards which need inks and stamps.  The Card Workshop Your Way do need those things plus thin cuts.  I have everything you need at the house but it would be harder to do online.

Think about it.  If you see a card workshop you really like, let me know and we can work out getting together.  The scrapbook pages for Workshop Your Way themselves do not need stamps or inks.  I could do a video step by step what you need to do after you order the Workshop Your Way scrapbooking.  If there are cards, like the card workshop itself there would be some logistics of getting together.

Let me know if you are interested in doing a class online.

October cards in Baraboo

There are 2 holidays coming up: Halloween and Thanksgiving.  Not everyone sends card for either seasons so for the October class, people will get to choose if they want to do Halloween and/or Thanksgiving.  I love Close to My Heart paper because there are always 2 sides to choose from.

I have 2 sets of stamps - 1 Halloween and 1 Thanksgiving for each card.  People can choose which way they want to go. It is amazing how different the cards look even when the same paper is used just choosing the other side.

You can probably see that the paper is not down real straight and that is because I want to show the class how to choose and make the cards.  I didn't adhere the paper to the card - just laid it down on top.

I love the How-to-books that Close To My Heart has.  They show you a pattern, how to cut it and then give you ideas of how to make it different and exciting.  Because these are not finished cards, I don't have any bling on them.  I might not use bling depending on how I am going to use the cards.  If your card is "bumped up" too high, it will cost you $.43.  If you are handing people cards or are willing to pay the extra postage it doesn't matter how much you "bump" things up.

Have fun!

New Tools to help you do what you do better!

There are some things that are new to the catalog and that you might really benefit from.  I picked out some of my favorites to share with you.

I love the Make it From Your Heart Volumes 1 - 4.  These are for cards and pages.  They give you what kind of paper you need, it gives you the cuts, it gives you the design and then it gives you samples of how you can make this your own.  The new How-To-Book that just came out is called "Love of Color".  It not only has designs but helps you decide how to put the many colors together in a way that make people look at your page and say "WOW".

One of the staples of stamping are the ink pads and the reinkers. The new pads are magnetic and are larger than they were before.  Now some of the pigment pads - which have been 1x1 inch pads, are in the larger format.  They are starting with some old and new colors.  The colors are: Candy Apple, Pixie, Sapphire, clover, Expresso, Black, and Daisy White.
It used to be that we would use bleach on paper towel to make an ink pad for the stamps.  The Daisy White is much easier to use.  There is also a chalk marker that can draw all sorts of doodles and words on the darker papers. Check out the CTMH blog of August 28, 2018 for all sorts of ways to use it.
There is a new Cricut Christmas Collection.  Cricut Season of Joy Digital collection has some great things to use for cards and pages and projects.

There are places for punches and think cuts and Cricut images.  There are also some great new thin cuts.  I am beginning to fall in love with each of these as they have their place in creation of projects.

Check out what is new on the website and see if there aren't things you just have to have to make projects easier, simpler and faster to do.
